And when they do complete their assignments, they may find that they produce less written work -- shorter reports, less "discussion" on discussion questions, and fewer sentences on each test question -- as compared to their peers without ADHD. Handwriting is also important because kids are required to use it daily in school from kindergarten on. Values and purposes should drive assessment, not the reverse.
