I think the boys up in Beantown need to pump the brakes a little bit. You hit their two best hitters early in the game in the same situations, by a pitcher who is a huuuuuuge douche bag when he hits people, an you expect everyone to be cool with it? The thing is that Beltre gets thrown at because the Indians suck so bad they couldn’t even hit Ortiz the first time around, and personally, I’d rather get thrown behind than actually get hit in the knee cap.
I can understand why the benches would clear and people would be pissed off, but I mean the Red Sox personal act as if they
were just cut off at the bar. John Lackey showed us about as much fire and passion as he has all year, and for some reason that is beyond me, Terry Francona just goes at it with the third base coach. I know Youk just went down for possibly the season, and this has been extremely frustrating to everyone because EVERYONE is on the DL, but this probably isn’t the way to go about business. It just brings out the true douche in all of them.
Any coincidence that the Red Sox seem to always be in the middle of rivalries when it comes to hitting people with pitches? Guess what guys, when you get thrown back at, suck it up. Take a page out of Derek Jeter’s book and just go to first base and let the pitchers handle it the next inning, the guys been hit by the Sox a fucking billion times and hasn’t even made a look towards the mound.
