MLB Power Rankings: Week 4

1. Philadelphia Phillies (15-6) Fucking balls.

2. New York Yankees (12-6) Could there have possibly been a worse 1-2 for the Power Rankings?  5 of the top 10 HR hitters of the AL are Yankees.  Like seriously?  Can entire teams be checked for steroids “randomly.”  When Russell Martin already has 6 homers on April 25th, something’s gotta be up.

3. Colorado Rockies (14-7) They slipped a little, but are still sittin’ pretty on top of the NL West after the Braves took care of the Giants and Dodgers battled the Cubs over the weekend.

4. Florida Marlins (13-7) Are they actually good this year?  Or are they going to do the same thing they do seemingly every year and annoy the Braves, Mets and Phils until the end where they fall short.

5. Texas Rangers (14-7) They swept a real hot Kansas City team that was up pretty high on last weeks rankings.  Can Texas keep it up without their star closer though?  I’m going to say yes.

6 .Cleveland Indians (13-8) They’ve gone only 1-3 since I last wrote about them looking legit, but they’re still in first and Grady Sizemore looks surprisingly awesome.

7. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (12-10) Weaver and Haren looks like a true aces, and they are carrying the Angels on their backs.  So far I’m really happy Autopick accidently picked Dan Haren for me in fantasy.  Guess it doesn’t really matter though considering “The Awkward Situation has AIDS” is currently 9-19-2 and sitting in last place.  Stupid fantasy baseball.

8. Tampa Bay Rays (11-11)  The Rays have kept it up and played some more good ball since I last put them at the number 10 spot.  Look for their young pitching rotation to keep them aflot in the Al East (where they currently sit in 2nd)

9. Boston Red Sox (10-11)  Aaaaand they’re back.  Haha I i knew it was only a matter of time but this quick?  I guess everyone here in NY prematurely blew their loads about that awful start becuase that pitching staff is looking good again.  Real good…

10. Atlanta Braves (11-12)  Freddie Freeman is ending up April on a tear and looks to be a legitimate Rookie of the Year candidate so far.  Atlanta just swept the defending champ Giants out of San Fran and If they can get Uggla (hitting only .182), Heyward (hitting only .250), and Prado (also hitting only .255 w 2 hrs) to hit like they’re expected to, look out National League because that pitching staff has been untouchable.

…sorry KC you got swept and Bruce Chen looked like well….Bruce Chen.
