Thanks Bobby

Well, this is it. Bobby Cox’s final regular season series, ever. It’s pretty hard to believe that after 17 years of watching Braves baseball this is actually it for #6. Basically, I just want to say thanks to Bobby for all he’s done the Braves in the time that I’ve watched them. Thanks for drafting Chipper Jones. Thanks for winning us that World Series in 1995. Thanks for spoiling me every year until 2006 when we finally weren’t good anymore. Thanks for the almost full season’s worth of ejections (they’re always fun to watch). Thanks for benching Andruw Jones mid game and transforming him in to the player he became for us.  Thanks for those stupid nicknames you said that always got me to call players as (chip, huddy, smoltzie, frenchy).  Thanks for always making the end of games interesting (well not really it always pissed me the hell off the Braves rarely ever had legitimate closers with the exception of Smoltz, Wagner, and possibly Rocker). Thanks for getting rid of Yunel Escobar. And currently, thanks for this season, which in my opinion might be your best work aside from maybe 2005 (I could probably go on with a lot more thank you’s but I gotta paper due in like 3 hours damnit). Somehow we’re going to be in the post season with what is currently one of the worst starting lineup’s we’ve ever had since 1991 and the most injuries we’ve had since that disastrous ’08 season. All I can really say is thanks Bobby for the ridiculously awesome managing job you’ve done this season and for as long as I’ve watched.
