2 Huge NBA Playoff Games Tonight

So who’s ready for a couple of game 3′s that could really make things interesting in their respected series tonight?  We have the Celtics at Knicks at 7, and the Magic at Hawks at 8.  Both of which I will be grabbing mad beer for, rockin’ the Joe Johnson, yelling at the TV, and going nuts for a solid 3 and a half hours.

I made my 1st roud predictions about a week ago, and even though our usual boston blowing commenter wrote “booo” on the post (god forbid the whole world doesn’t pick the Celtics), so far I’ve done a pretty solid job (only the Sixers dissapointing me).

The Knicks could and really SHOULD be up 2 -0 against the incredibly boring to watch this post season Celtics who have played like they don’t give a shit at all.  The Knicks on the other hand have showed balls (especiallly Carmelo in game 2) and have made things real interesting in both games.  If only they knew how to close out games, and D’Antoni kenw how to coach close, gritty games.  I think he’s awful, but that’s for another time.

“In the last four years, the toughest environment we’ve played in, the most hostile, was probably Atlanta.” – Ray Allen

Ray Allen was quoted yesterday saying that the loudest and most hostile playoff atmosphere he’s ever played in was Atlanta in 2008 when the #8 seed Hawks took them to 7.  I mean, it was crazy there, and I remember Hawks fans going all out and it was loud as shit on TNT.  But still, this is MSG and the Knicks havent had a home playoff game in like a decade.  If he thought Atlanta was hostile, look for him to shit himself in New York tonight.  I expect one of the craziest playoff crowds ever, and it should be a really fun game to watch.  Amare needs to play, and play hard though for the Knicks to win.  Also, somebody else has got to step up tonight.  Tony Douglas?  Maybe Landy Fields will actually do something?  Someone has to throw Melo and Amare are a damn bone…

The Hawks made me look smart when they took game 1 in Orlando in impressive fashion.  I picked them to win in 6, and they really could have and should have (much like the Knicks) won game 2, as they played the exact same game just didn’t shoot quite as well.  Game 3 is sold out tonight at Phillips Arena, and if it’s anything like it was in 2008, then the Magic should be in for a treat.  I look for Hawks fans to be crazy again tonight and act like they did a few years ago when Atlanta surprised the hell out of everyone and made for one of the most entertaining playoff series I’ve ever watched.  Can Atlanta continue to play great D and shut down the guys around Dwight?  Will Joe Johnson step up like he did in game 1?  Or will Jameer Nelson, Jason Richardson and Gilbert Arenas play like they are expected too?

All I know is that I want to watch two really entertaining games tonight and I think we will get them.  Game 3′s are always my favorite because you get to see the underdog’s crowd getting it UPPPP.  I really look forward to seeing Memphis’s this weekend, especially because they’ve NEVER even had one there before.  It’s also kinda funny that the Charlotte Bobcats are now the only NBA team to have never won a playoff game…
