Some Big Time NFL Picks For Week 1

The NFL season kicks off tonight with a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship. I probably won’t watch the game because I have better things to be doing on a Thursday night like getting hammered drunk, pissing off Quinnipiac security, and of course making every effort to hit the jackpot with some girl who doesn’t know any better.

We really shit the bed on our two-a-day articles this summer, but who was really paying attention, right? Anyways, here are my pre sesaon division winners and all that non sense. And no, I don’t need to justify my picks, I’ve worked way to hard building some small credibility on this website over the past year, I deserve this much.

NFC division winners: Cowboys, Packers, Saints, 49ers.
NFC Wild Card: Vikings, Giants.

AFC division winners: Patriots, Ravens, Chargers, Colts.
AFC Wild Card: Texans(finally), Bengals….that’s right, no J-E-T-S

Super Bowl prediction: I’ll take a break from picking the Giants like I have the past couple of years, at least I nailed it right on the head before the ’07 season with Giants over Pats. In all seriousness….the super bowl will go..

Vikings over Ravens.

AMERICA!!

The Vikings have to take it home this year right? I may not like them, but they are damn good. With Sidney Rice out for most of the season, and Favre in no way repeating last year’s performance, the Vikings will become the most dangerous wild card team in recent memory. And common, is Brett Favre really going to fall short one more time? I think he goes out on top.

NFL MVP- Tony Romo….Yup, I said it.

For week 1 picks: (my picks are the highlighted teams if you were too stupid to notice)

Minnesota @ New Orleans
Carolina @ New York Giants
Atlanta @ Pittsburgh
Cleveland @ Tampa Bay
Denver @ Jacksonville
Indianapolis @ Houston
Miami @ Buffalo
Detroit @ Chicago
Oakland @ Tennessee
Cincinnati @ New England
Arizona @ St. Louis
San Fran @ Seattle
Green Bay @ Philly
Dallas @ Washington
Baltimore @ New York Jets
San Diego @ Kansas City

What are the realistic chances that nine road teams win this week? Going to be a great way to start off my season picks.

For you gamblers out there, I looked over the spreads for the games this weekend. I’d bet the New England at -4.5 every day and twice on Sunday. Your nuts to think Brady and co. are gonna lose a home opener, and when they win their games this year it’ll be by at least 6 every time.

For an upset, throw some money against Chicago who is giving six points to Detroit, there’s a chance Detroit wins that game never mind covers the spread.

For the Over/Under. I’m taking the over in the Dallas-Washington game, the point total is set at 20 1/2 right now.

Anyone still reading this article, comment on whether or not you want me to just pick all games based of the spread this season, as well as any additional thoughts on my purely genius picks.
